A year after the introduction of the controversial Nikon D610 which suffer issue with dust on the sensor, Nikon has announced its replacement – Nikon D610.

The new Nikon D610 is physically identical to the Nikon D600, even the layout of the buttons. The new D610 has some very minor upgrades to the D600, with just three new features. They are

  • faster continuous shooting 6fps vs 5.5fps,
  • ‘quiet continuous’ mode, and
  • improved auto white balance system

The Nikon D610 is available to pre-order at B&H (Body and Kit)

The shutter mechanics obviously has been improved to allow the faster fps and quiet shutter mode to be made available to the Nikon D610. Other than that, the D610 features the same 24MP CMOs sensor, ISO 100-6400 (expandable to 25,600), 39 points AF system with 9 cross type AF points, 3.2” 921K dot LCD, dual memory card slots and 1080p full HD as the D600.

Since the D610 is pretty much the same as the D600 with the fixed issue of dust problem and a few improved features. D600 owners can stay put and forget about upgrading to the D610. If you have problems with the dust issue, just contact your local Nikon agent to get it repaired.  If the controversial dust issue has stopped you from getting the Nikon D600, then here is your answer, the Nikon D610 is the improved version.
