A few weeks ago, I was at Fiji which is only 3.5 hours away from New Zealand.  If you are interested in knowing what camera gear I took and the tricks in shooting places where the sun is always shinning on your face , leave me a comment. For this trip, I travelled pretty light, mostly shooting with primes.

Fiji is an amazing place, we stayed at Denarau Island, went out to a few of the islands at the Mamanuca and Yasawa Groups. We snorkelled around Monuriki where Tim Hank’s Cast Away was filmed. Drank fresh coconuts from the trees. Partied at night with music and fire. Walked along the beach under an amazing sunset. Tasted the local seafood…fish and a lot of fish. Visited a Fijian village and tried some Kava. Tasted lots of tropical fruits and drinks. And of cause drank a lot of their Fijian beers.

Check out some of the images. Enjoy !

the photos with people in it are looking like they were done with prime lenses and no flash. did you ever used 24-70 on this trip?
i’m also interested in the trick you have used in the bright sunlight! 😀

To be honest, I hardly used the 24-70mm lens on this trip. I used mostly with the 24mm f/1.4. For these people shots, you are right, I didn’t use any flash. However, I did use off camera flash for other portrait shots. I will post the photos up later, so watch this space.
