Nikon announces  the world’s highest 16.7x zoom ratio lens for D-SLR cameras, the new NIKKOR AF-S 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR DX. With an impressive focal length of 18-300mm, it is capable of shooting everything from wide-angle shots to super telephoto images. The built-in vibration reduction (VRII) also helps superior image clarity. This pretty much supersedes the current 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 VR and is a perfect all purpose lens especially for travel. It weighs 830g which is nto particularly light but it covers from 27-450mm (35mm).

  • Ultra high-power approx. 16.7x zoom lens covering 18-300mm focal range
  • Maximum reproduction ratio of 1/3.2x — the highest class among high-power zoom lenses with DX format
  • Two focus modes are available — M/A (autofocus with manual override) and M (manual focus)
  • Built-in Vibration Reduction (VRII) provides the equivalent of a shutter speed approximately four stops faster
